May 30, 2020 World MS Day
World MS Day, officially marked on May 30, is a day to celebrate global solidarity and hope for the future. It brings the global MS community together to share stories, raise awareness and campaign with everyone affected by multiple sclerosis (MS).
The MS Connections Campaign
The theme for World MS Day 2020-2022 is ‘connections’. The MS Connections campaign is all about building community connection, self-connection and connections to quality care.
The campaign tagline is ‘I Connect, We Connect’ and the campaign hashtag is #MSConnections.
MS Connections challenges social barriers that leave people affected by MS feeling lonely and socially isolated. It is an opportunity to advocate for better services, celebrate support networks and champion self-care.
There are loads of ways to get involved in the MS Connections campaign! Even in the context of COVID-19, there are plenty of ways to celebrate and come together virtually. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
The MS Heart is a symbol of solidarity with everyone affected by MS. Connect your hands or find a friend to create the ‘MS Heart’. Why not take a picture to show your support for the global MS community this World MS Day?
Organize a virtual event, activity or fundraiser for the MS Connections campaign.
On World MS Day, I want to thank my father, Robert, for being my hero!! He is the most brave and courageous person I know.
He was diagnosed with MS in 2008. After many years of searching, it was a relieve for him to finally know what caused his pain and discomforts. The disease has progressed over the years, but my father is still going through life with a positive attitude. This is why he is my hero and I love him so much! ❤❤❤
