Gratitude can make you happier

Gratitude is a way for people to appreciate what they have instead of always reaching for something new in the hopes it will make them happier. It helps people refocus on what they have instead of what they lack.
Here are some simple ways to practice gratitude on a regular basis:
Keep a gratitude journal: Make it a habit to write down the things you are grateful for each day.
Tell someone you love them and how much you appreciate them. You can also write them a thank-you note.
Notice the beauty in nature each day.
Smile more often: Smiling has several health benefits, such as improved mood, lower blood pressure, stress relief, stronger immune function, ...
Include an act of kindness in your life each day.
Read a positive, inspirational quote each day and share it with your loved ones.
Meditate: Mindfulness meditation involves focusing on the present moment without judgment.
Pray: People who are religious can use prayer to cultivate gratitude.
