Action for Happiness - Optimistic October 2021

Daily actions to help you focus on what really matters.

Especially when things are feeling a bit tough, it can help to set some goals. Making goals achievable and ensuring that you have a few short term as well as longer term, more ambitious goals helps us feel we're making progress. It doesn't matter if your goal for the day is something really small, the important thing is to give yourself the opportunity to feel like you've achieved something and to celebrate that! This month's calendar is full of ideas to help you think about how you can put this into practice.

Here's how you can get involved and make a difference:

The Ten Keys to Happier Living are based on a review of the latest research from psychology and related fields. Everyone's path to happiness is different, but the evidence suggests these Ten Keys consistently tend to have a positive impact on people's happiness and well-being.

The first five keys (GREAT) are about how we interact with the outside world in our daily activities. The second five keys (DREAM) come from inside us and depend on our attitude to life. Together they spell "GREAT DREAM".

The monthly Action for Happiness calendars are packed with actions you can take to help create a happier and kinder world. You can download them in different languages on https://www.actionforhappiness.org/

The Action for Happiness app is based on the themes and actions from the monthly calendars and aims to give users a couple of friendly "nudges" each day - firstly that day's action in the morning and secondly an inspiring message towards the end of the day.

You can download it on iOS and GooglePlay.
